How many Driving Lessons will I need to learn to drive?

This is the most frequently asked question.  Sadly its the one that cannot be answered very well at all.  There is a big difference between being able to drive and learning to drive to test standard comfortably. We get people through to test standard at approximately 20 - 25 hours in most cases.  Although, most of these will still want another 5 or so hours to make themselves feel confident.  The national average is approx 40 hours with a instructor with another 20 hours with additional help such as parents taking you out.

My current instructor says I am no where near test but I think I am, what should I do?

Does your instructor have a record of what you need to do to pass.  Is it regularly updated with your progress so you can see where you are on your lesson course or do they just do the lesson? We use a progress record in accordance with DSA guidelines.  This helps to show a pupil what is required and how close they are to the required levels.  These are agreed by both us and you so you are happy and in agreement with your progress.

I have my licence and have passed my theory - How long before I take my test

The test booking waiting time is 4 to 6 weeks at Gosport, Maybush and Forest Hills test centers.  It is therefore important that you get close to test standard before you book it or you may not have time to take sufficient lessons in the time before your test.

I have failed my test before so what can you do differently

Here at complete we are very experienced in what an examiner is looking for when testing you.  We use these skills to re focus your training in the areas that we feel you need them.  It is a regular thing that pupils are not confident in an area of their driving (normally a set exercise) and it is the lack pf confidence in this that affects their overall drive.  We identify this problem and make sure that you are confident with this exercise and then are more confident to take your test
